Bread for 3 loaves, 3 hours baking time
- 14 dl wheat flour (siktet hvetemel)
- 11 dl wholegrain flour (sammalt hvete)
- 2 dl oats (havre)
- Sunflower, pumpkin, linseeds, or other
- 3 tsp salt
- 7 tsp dried yeast (tørrgjær)
- 18 dl water
Mix all ingredients and then add water. To get the right temperature on water, use 13 dl of tap water (cold) and add 5 dl of boiling water.
Cover and let rise for one hour. Divide the dough into three cake tins and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
Cook for 15 minutes at 210 degrees and 45 minutes at 175 degrees. Remember to preheat the oven for 5 minutes. On the boat gas oven 210 degrees = full power, 175 degrees is medium power.
ENJOY 🙂
History of our bread
This recipe was brought to the organization by our beloved skipper, Runa in 2020, and now it has become a tradition on all teams. We experiment with different seeds and ingredients, but we always return to this one. The bread in the picture was a success; for the volunteer who made it, it was the first homemade bread. Learning and sharing experiences about lifestyle and how to live sustainably and healthily is also a part of the ITSB-adventure.
