In The Same Boat is carrying out one of the world’s largest volunteer-based professional cleanup operation — covering 10% of the world’s coastline, including 70% of Norway’s, with a special focus on the Arctic.

Norway is famous for its dramatic coastline and snow-covered mountains — symbols of the last untouched nature of Europe. But this beauty hides a crisis: plastic waste reaches even the most remote fjords. Despite this, government support remains limited.

Our volunteer crews work year-round in harsh conditions, collecting and removing tons of plastic from places no one else reaches. These operations depend entirely on people and organizations who believe in protecting the ocean through real, physical action.
